Steinbeis PolyVert stands for responsible plastic recycling – industrial, efficient, and sustainable. Our recyclates from post-consumer plastics impress with functionality, appearance, and processability – without compromising on quality.
As part of the Steinbeis Holding, we combine over 30 years of experience in plastics processing with the mission to actively shape a sustainable circular economy.
Steinbeis PolyVert draws on decades of experience in plastic recycling. The company became part of Steinbeis Holding in 2019 with the goal of strategically advancing sustainable plastic solutions.
In 2020, the acquisition of another production site in Großenlüder marked an important step in expanding PET expertise. The plant’s management was taken over by Sebastian Meister, an experienced plastic recycler.
Since 2021, the company has operated under the name Steinbeis PolyVert GmbH.
A state-of-the-art PET plant was commissioned, enabling more efficient processing of post-consumer plastics and sustainably strengthening our PET recycling capabilities.
The new polyolefin (PO) sorting line marks another technological milestone. With precise material separation, we lay the foundation for high-quality recyclates from PE and PP – with a focus on quality and future viability.
What began as a regional recycler is now a pan-European supplier of high-quality recyclates – with a clear guiding principle: Responsibility begins with quality.
Steinbeis Holding stands for sustainable industrial development – focused on paper, energy, consulting, and plastic recycling. As part of this strong community, we benefit from:
We act with foresight and responsibility. Our goal: to shape the transition to a sustainable industry in a lasting and impactful way.
We benefit from knowledge exchange within the Holding – between paper, energy, consulting, and recycling. This fosters innovation at the intersections, making our solutions future-proof.
Being part of the Steinbeis Group provides us with reliable frameworks, clear values, and entrepreneurial stability – as a strong partner to industry and society.

Verified quality – documented, traceable, reliable.
Our sites in Völkermarkt (Austria) and Großenlüder (Germany) are certified to ISO 9001, ensuring rigorous quality management from raw material intake to product delivery.
We are also certified to ISO 14001 – the international standard for environmental management systems. This guarantees that our processes are both economically efficient and ecologically responsible.
For assessing the recyclability of our products, we follow RecyClass standards – a Europe-wide recognized system for evaluating plastic packaging and recyclates regarding recyclability, traceability, and material purity. Many of our materials are already RecyClass-listed, meeting strict criteria for origin, quality, and reusability in existing waste systems. Assessments are carried out by independent bodies and follow EU norms such as EN 15343 and ISO 22095.
For sensitive end products – such as toys or cosmetic packaging – we also develop recyclates that aim to meet the requirements of the new EU-wide CosPaTox testing standard. We collaborate closely with clients and partners to develop especially safe, low-emission material solutions.
